In 2030 the sale of new manual cars will be banned, the sale of hybrid cars will be banned just 5 years later.

With that in mind you may ask yourself should I learn to drive in a manual or electric car (EV)? With each year that passes more students will learn in EVs as more driving instructors make the switch.

Is it easier to learn in an EV?

All electric cars are automatic, which means new drivers don’t have to cope with finding
the biting point of the clutch pedal. Neither will they have to master tricky hill starts or
predict when to change gear. Clutch control has always been a fundamental part of
learning to drive, moving off without mastering this technique is challenging.
